How I make Silhouette Graphics
I have been creating various flat and simplistic assets intended for web and print use for several years now. I wanted to share the process of how I create these assets as I find them to be extraordinarily effective for a wide range of applications.
The process is relatively simple, starting with an image that is traced with the pen tool in illustrator. The shape can then be refined to be more aesthetically pleasing, the key take-away is that your own eye and gut instinct is far more important than following the reference exactly.
If you take your time you’ll end up with a versatile asset that you can use far into the future due to the file being an infinitely scalable piece of vector art!
