The Hasselblad Experience (Part 1)
Renting $17,000 of Camera Gear:
I have always dreamed of using the professional medium format cameras that most can only aspire to own. When the opportunity came up to rent some gear from LensRentals for a personal project I jumped at the chance.
Hasselblad X1D - $8,995
XCD 30mm f/3.5 - $3,995
XCD 120mm f/3.5 Macro - $4,495
H-3054752Battery - $130
Walking Around the Neighborhood:
Pretty much the moment I had the camera in my hand I took it outside to take some photos, I wanted to get the most out of every moment I had with the X1D, so I wasn’t going to miss out on a nice day, despite the harsh early-afternoon sun
Seascapes in Carmel:
Finally getting to take the camera out in the world with better light, I took a trip to the beach to further test the camera’s capabilities for landscapes and low-light.
The X1D as an Out and About Camera:
As a street, landscape, or casual shooting camera the X1D shines. Capable of creating beautiful images of the mundane, as a tool the camera manages to inspire me to create and look harder for interesting compositions and light I might otherwise pass by.
